PROCESS-DRIVEN · ATTUNED · RELATIONAL
Chak Hin Leung is a Hong Kong–born, Glasgow-based filmmaker working at the intersection of experimental and observational storytelling. His films explore cultural identity, emotional memory and embodied experience through sensory, movement-led processes.
He is a 2024–2025 participant in the Glasgow Film Festival New Talent Mentorship Scheme, through which he developed his latest short film, We Dance To Heal.
Chak’s work often uses designed frameworks to hold space for vulnerability and human connection, allowing authenticity to emerge through process rather than performance. His practice centres LGBTQIA+ communities, members of the global majority, and individuals rarely reflected in Scottish cinema, and is driven by a commitment to diverse creative collaboration.
His film work has been shortlisted and screened internationally by museums and organisations including BBC100, SQIFF, Norwich Film Festival, SSA Annual Exhibition, arc en rêve centre d’architecture, Milano Design Film Festival, Venice Architecture Film Festival, LOOP Barcelona, and TRANSFER Architecture Video Award.
